Prabowo Welcomes Peruvian President at Merdeka Palace: Thousands of Students Celebrate!

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, warmly welcomed the President of Peru, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The event was graced by the presence of approximately 3,000 students from elementary to high schools in the capital. President Boluarte’s motorcade, accompanied by 17 motorcycle troops and 60 mounted guards, traveled from the National Monument (Monas) to the palace gates. Upon arrival, Prabowo personally greeted Boluarte, and both leaders stood on the ceremonial podium as the national anthems of Peru and Indonesia were played. Subsequently, they inspected the honor guard and paid respects to their national flags.

During the visit, Prabowo and Boluarte introduced members of their official delegations. Prabowo was accompanied by key ministers such as Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Investment and BKPM Head Rosan P. Roeslani, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The two Presidents engaged in a bilateral meeting focused on strengthening the ties between Indonesia and Peru.

Both countries are part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), a platform for economic and multilateral cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. This meeting came as a reciprocal gesture following Prabowo’s official visit to Peru the previous year. The visit aimed to further enhance diplomatic exchange and cooperation between Indonesia and Peru.
