BGN’s Recruitment Strategy for MBG Nutrition Program Kitchens: A Guide

National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively working to boost local employment opportunities by hiring workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, shared that a minimum of 30% of the staff in each SPPG will be chosen from underprivileged backgrounds. This aligns with the President’s directive to ensure that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program not only provides meals but also creates job opportunities. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units established in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering for the program. The MBG Program has benefited over 7.4 million people nationwide, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers. To reach more individuals, BGN plans to launch an additional 2,401 SPPG units in the next 10 days, with the goal of serving around 15 million beneficiaries. This proactive step demonstrates a strong commitment to support job creation and address nutritional needs in marginalized communities.
