Prabowo Macron Visit to Indonesia Military Academy

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, recently hosted French President Emmanuel Macron at the Indonesian Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang. This visit marked a significant and symbolic moment in diplomatic relations between the two countries. The leaders arrived at the academy together after a helicopter ride from Yogyakarta International Airport, both wearing matching white shirts. President Prabowo took the wheel of a Maung tactical vehicle with President Macron seated beside him, showcasing their camaraderie and mutual respect. The visit was met with full military honors, including Honor Guards, Mounted Cavalry, and local students waving flags, adding a ceremonial touch to Macron’s official state trip to Indonesia. Prabowo personally extended the invitation to Macron to observe cadet education and training at the academy, underlining the importance of enhancing bilateral defense cooperation. This visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and France, focusing on defense capabilities and human resource development within the military sector.
